eid al-adha — QURBANI

And for every community We have established a rite so that they may pronounce the name of Allah over that with which He has provided them in the four-footed animals among the cattle. Your God is One God, so be devoted to Him. And give glad tidings to those who humble themselves ...

Al-Quran, 22:34

Eid al-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is the highest Islamic festival and is celebrated in the last month of the lunar calendar Dhul Hijjah, at the height of the pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj).

To commemorate the prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), a sacrificial animal is slaughtered, and the meat divided into three portions

You can keep one portion for yourself. The second portion is given to family, friends, and neighbors and the third portion is donated to the needy. Of course, the meat can also be donated in its entirety, as the Feast of Sacrifice is one of the few occasions for countless people around the world to eat meat.

Compulsory sacrifice for financially capable Muslims

Sacrificing an animal is obligatory for all Muslims who have the necessary financial means.

Sheep, goats, cattle, camels, or water buffalo can be slaughtered. Small animals such as goats or sheep can be sacrificed by one person, and cattle by up to seven people together.

This year at ASIYAH we are offering the slaughter of a cow, sheep , or goat in Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Togo.

Slaughter costs

The cost for a cow is €700 and for a sheep or goat €150.

Support for orphans in Bosnia

In addition, this year we are bringing joy to orphans in Bosnia. With just €15 , we can not only buy the children toys or new clothes, but also essential items such as toiletries, which make a huge contribution to their well-being.
